Joonmeedia’s artproject “Demonstration” is dealing with the concerns and hopes of teachers and education workers and helps to keep in focus their needs.

“Demonstration” is our mini-support to the teachers in the walking gallery TANK. The national strike against low wages and overtime jobs took place in 7-9 March 2012. Over 17,000 teachers from all the counties in Estonia took part from the strike. Supporting strikes took place among transport and health workers, sailors and rescuers.

“Demonstration” relates with strikes in many more European countries which take place due to social and cultural situations. People start to strike when there is no other choice left to have a normal dialogue with decision makers and politicians. Strikes help to create a sense of togetherness and raises our low self-esteem.

We have approached the different problems by using drawing based art and encoded commentaries using metaphors. “Demonstration” was first exhibited 14 March – 4 April 2012 in moving gallery TANK which takes art closer to the people and public spaces.

EDUCATIONAL TOOLS REVEALED IN THE 6TH TOOL FAIR

16.-19. November in Tallinn, Lauluväljak
Tool Fair is an international event dedicated to educational tools and good practices in non-formal education in the youth sector. More than 100 educational practitioners came together to share, experiment, discuss and develop further their educational methods. During three days 32 different workshops were held plus the so called open market, where we could meet many more tools.

Joonmeedia also thanks the participants who joined us in the drawing process!

COMMUNITY TOOLS HELPS TO SAY HELLO TO YOUR NABER


Drawing Media started the schoolyear with Community Tools' agents at Uue Maailma streetfestival. With the tool they've made a new step to bring people together by using the internet. So that one mother can find another mum from her naberhood by using internet and then make an agreement in the time of childkeeping. It gives a good possibility to have a good communication experience and feel more integrated into your community.
